Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Sprint PC6700

I installed all "the stuff" and it went perfectly! I then enabled the API feature in my FBs account and configured FreshMobile with the URL and authentication token. I tried:

https://(my id).freshbooks.com/api/2.1/xml-in
and
http://(my id).freshbooks.com/

When I try to "Get FreshBooks data" I receive:

'Data Request Error: Could not establish connection to network'

I checked my internet connection with my browser and it is working fine... any thoughts?

Thanks a bunch... this app is great.. hope I get it working!

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Hi Bill,

The url should be set to "mycompany.freshbooks.com" , don't include the https:// or any punctuation other then a period.

Please let me know how it goes...and thanks for testing it.

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Thanks Johnny.. That did the trick!

I needed to remove the "http://" and go with just "mycompany.freshbooks.com"

I never have been good at following directions!

However in case this is helpful to you or anyone else: Once I made the change, I tried to "Get FreshBooks Data" and received an error message stating "connection timed out" (or something like that). So... I rebooted my phone, then opened my web browser to be sure I had a good internet connection established and then opened FreshMobile and attempted to retrieve the data and it worked perfectly. The timeout error was popping up after only about 5 seconds when it was happening. Everything is great now!

Thanks,
Bill

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Greetings All,

Thanks for creating this tool. I followed all the steps above...

.Net Compact Framework 3.5
latest Build 0.82
Freshbooks account
netcfv35.messages.en.wm.cab
using myname.freshbooks.com
API Token

Seems to make connection. Comes back with nothing...no error...no data

I get error 401 when i add a character to the API token.
I get error 404 when i add a character to mycompanyname in url

where do I go from here? would really like to use this tool - it was the reason to try the FB service. Any assistance is appreciated...thanks.

ps...using AT&T Tilt, WM6.1

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Hey there-

Make sure you remove the https:// from the URL - for your API - it should ready:

companyname.freshbooks.com

and that's all.  Hope that helps!

If you just started a new account, you need to make sure you have at least 1 payment, invoice, time entry, client...or it will fail.

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

I have an HTC Tilt (AT&T) and cannot get FreshMobile to work.  When I Get Freshbooks data, it acts like it is doing something, but still no data.  When I try to Get Freshbooks again, I get an error - "A call to SSPI has failed, see inner exception."

Any suggestions?  I REALLY want this to work.

Thanks

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Hey all, has anyone had any success with Windows Mobile 6.1? I have someone asking about it who is having the app crash everytime he tries to boot it up.

Any ideas? thanks,
Levi

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

Sorry Lee, it only works with Windows Mobile 6.1 Smartphone (not the touchscreen Pocket PC).  I am using it succesfully on a Moto Q9c running 6.1 with no issues.

You can always fix it yourself as it is now open source:
http://www.codeplex.com/FreshMobile

Please update the links on the Add-Ons site to the codeplex site...I've emailed Saul a few times asking but it was never was changed.

John G.

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

I had success with the app on my Sprint Mogul (Touchscreen PocketPC) which is fully updated (WinMo 6.1, etc.) Navigating the program with the touch screen is no problem. It was a matter of trial and error the first few times I set it up, but I am able to make it work every time now. The instructions here and on John's site helped me make it work.

Re: FreshMobile Alpha Release - Submit time on Windows Mobile smartphones

ThatGuy, I'm glad it worked

It would not work on my Palm Treo 800w which has 6.1...but never could make it work.

Maybe it was just Treo specific.
