Hi,
I've been using freshbooks for a while now, invoicing a client in Australian Dollars. However I now need to invoice another in GBP , but it seems the currency setting is a global setting for my account, rather than client-specific or invoice-specific.
Is it possible to manage multiple clients with a different currency for each one? Is this feature available in a paid-plan??
Thanks!

Hi Iain,
Great question (and actually much more common of a question than you think). At this time you can't manage more than one currency in a single FreshBooks account even if you have a paid account.
What we recommend for this scenario is to start a new FreshBooks account for your GBP customers. If you are a paying customer, and you need additional client limits in your second account, we can spread your paying account across two accounts for no additional charge. If this is the case, send us a note and we will update your account right away.
I will also make sure your voice is heard with our product team that may be planning to add the ability to handle more than one currency at the same time.
Thanks,
Levi

Hey Levi!
I have been hoping you all would add this a feature for a long time now. I am finding it even more frustrating now. I have a CDN account and a US account and I am now starting to share projects with another FB user on my US account, however the frustration comes in when they send me an invite to share a project, it doesn't show up in my US account, it only shows up in CDN account.
Any suggestions how to get around this?
Thanks!

Hi AgentSolutions,
Thanks for contacting FreshBooks. Do you mind sending an email to support@freshbooks.com and include the following information,
1. Your account URLs.
2. The name/URL of the account that is connected to your accounts.
3. The name of the projects that you expect to see in your US account.
We will then be able to take a better look at your problem and help resolving it.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Thanks,

We also bill our clients in multiple currencies (USD & CAD). It would be wonderful to be able to select what currency we want to use directly on the invoice.
As far as setting up multiple accounts for multiple currencies, and then having multiple logins and multiple sets of numbers and reports, that's less than ideal. ![]()

Totally understand brandon! I'd love to see multiple currencies implemented as much as the next FreshBooks user. I'll definitely add your vote for this feature.
In the meantime, unfortunately, the only way to bill in different currencies would be to set up multiple accounts.
Oh yes, and welcome to the FreshBooks forums!

Just wanted to quickly add my vote also. Currently our workaround involves simply using the notes when inputting payments. ie.

Oh no.. that has to be a joke right?
I've finally accepted that i had to eat that my Danish clients only would be able to get invoices in english, because im now starting to get some international work too, but then the next would be that i have to invoice my international clients in DKK so the confusion is plain total..?!
Back to the pros and cons drawing-board and trow in yet another minus..
So for me choosing you would only be for your great API (integrations and iPhone app) and the payment gateway options ![]()

Hey Jimmy,
Thanks for the post, sorry about your pain here. Keep in mind you can setup a second FreshBooks account for your international clients in a different currency if you want to, just send us a note.
