I am a little disappointed with this.

1) Initial setup you have to manually create all invoices and clients inside Xero
2) Why don't expenses get sent over to Xero, this is the biggest omission?!

I'm a big fan of both Freshbooks and Xero but I am bitterly disappointed in the sync. There is just WAY too much missing. Just for starters:

1) Can't move your staff / contractor invoices over to Xero to manage your expenses. This is HALF of the benefit of Freshbooks. Amazing.

2) No matter how many detailed revenue line items you've included in an invoice, you can only map them to a single revenue line in Xero. You then have to manually adjust each line item to the correct revenue code if you want to do any kind of revenue reporting.

3) You can't port over any paid invoices when you first setup your sync between both apps. WHY?!

In many cases you're better off using a csv upload into Xero... which of course totally negates the point of the API and syncing the two apps. Freshbooks and Xero have a lot of work to do before they should be announcing that these two apps are plugged in together. A lot of work.

Loving Xero, easy to use interface, live bank account sync. The support and help videos are very well done and useful.

I can now do my accounts weekly and know where the business is, I am saving countless hours over using quickbooks and for once I dont dread doing BAS.

As an accountant who returned to public practice because of Xero I can't speak highly enough of the both the product and the company. I have so much fun using Xero that it almost becomes addictive (but I am an accountant I suppose). I am using Xero to deliver proactive services to client and really using the numbers to make better business decisions and run more profitable businesses. The collaboration platform it provides is just fantastic.
