Toggl is a timesheet killer. It provides an easy way to track time spent on projects. Toggl has desktop widgets, an iPhone application and an iGoogle gadget for even faster access.

How it works
Toggl lets you sync your FreshBooks clients and projects, and will export your time entries into FreshBooks for invoicing.

What else does it integrate with?
Basecamp.

Getting Started
Click on the Get Started button to sign up for a Toggl account. Once you’ve set up your account, follow these steps to activate the FreshBooks integration.

  1. Login to your Toggl account.
  2. Click on Settings in the top right corner and go to the Integration section.
  3. Under the FreshBooks section, click the Edit link.
  4. Enter your FreshBooks URL and API token and click the Save button.
  5. You should now be ready to sync your Toggl time entries with FreshBooks.

Toggl does indeed export time entries to Facebook.. otherwise it would be absolutely useless! You have to assign a task to a time-entry for Toggl to export it to Freshbooks. If you look at the sync log, it tells you this and provides a brief explanation.

So your Toggl tasks can be composed of:
Client
Project
Task
Note/Comment

Love Toggl! I have been using it for quite awhile, without FreshBooks. However the integration isn't so great. Toggl allows for the creation of clients and projects in the mobile app, and then syncs with its web site great. However any time tracked on projects created in Toggl will not sync to FreshBooks. For time to sync, the client and project must first be created in FreshBooks, then synced to Toggl. Then time tracked in Toggl will sync back to FreshBooks. Sounds minor, but after having used Toggl to create and track time directly on my Android, this is a bit backwards. I am used to just firing up and tracking on the fly, I am a one man show.

FreshBooks should look heavily at developing an Android app that functions like Toggl! All things considered, Toggl is still a better solution than TimeDroid. Yuck.

Completed the integration steps and did an import via toggl.

Nothing imported.

This is basically the time tracking app FreshBooks should have built in. I love it. Works great on iOS and PC. Not super thrilled with the way it's integrated with FreshBooks, but not sure where the limitations are. And I feel $25 for FreshBooks and Toggle is a bit steep for one person.

Toggl appears to import Freshbooks projects, task, and clients. But it does not export time entries as it says it does.
