Getting Started

To download FreshBooks transactions in Kashoo, go to your Kashoo ‘Business Profile’, enable the ‘FreshBooks’ option, and click ‘Save’.
Go to the FreshBooks section of Kashoo by clicking ‘FreshBooks’ in the left navigation.
In the FreshBooks section of Kashoo, you will need to input your FreshBooks API URL and Authentication Token. You will find these by logging into your FreshBooks account.
Configure your FreshBooks account Settings in Kashoo appropriately. More details on this can be found on the Kashoo support site - https://support.kashoo.com/2009/01/10/importing-data-freshbooks/
Click ‘Add’ and your FreshBooks data will be loaded in Kashoo from the FreshBooks API.

I have to say, once I watched kashoo's webinar with Ivan on FreshBooks, I was sold. Having an accounting system import all of my info from FreshBooks is so helpful! Also, Ivan's suggestion of a suspense account to bring in my transactions really cleans things up, and makes my accountant happy! Kashoo really does make accounting simple! I love FreshBooks for recommending them!

Freshbooks integration is great and the product is perfect for small business, even incorporated companies. The service and support though has been absolutely terrible. It's only $9 a month so I can't complain too much but seriously they shouldn't offer that they provide support at all because when you call, nobody answers. When you leave voicemail, nobody calls you back. When you email, you may or may not get a response and if you do, it isn't from anyone who can provide technical assistance. They just take your information and tell you someone will call you back.....which doesn't happen.

My husband is a CPA and we have been transferring our clients over to Kashoo as it is a very simple, bare-bones, no nickel & diming accounting system. I believe that the system has undergone several updates since 2010 and we haven't experienced the constant errors and slowness that others have commented on. We love the bank/credit card upload as it imports data easily and even helps you with matching.

I have been using Kashoo (formerly Clarity Accounting) for one year. I have found that it meets all of my needs as a consultant, and the FreshBooks integration is excellent. The support staff has been responsive whenever I have needed them. The interface is a little dated, but very functional.

I have found ~~Clarity Accounting~~ Kashoo to be a great solution for me. I had been using Microsoft�s Small Business Accounting package and with it being end of lifed need a new accounting package. This time I was looking for something that could be used from both Windows and Mac. I find the freshbook�s import work reliably for me and use it regularly to import invoice, clients and expenses. We don�t currently accept payments through freshbook�s but we do apply payments there and they update as expected.

The review below (Mark D) is incorrect that you need separate subscriptions for multiple users. It is easy to grant access to an unlimited number of users and set different access levels for them.

I have been using this solution for a couple of months now and I have to agree with Alex C. Useless. It's consistently slow and the interface is not the easiest to use; especially with the constant errors. It also seemed like you could add other users to your account for free but this was not the case. Every user needs to pay the $10/month subscription.

Save yourself the headache and find another accounting solution!

Signed up for a free trial and went straight in to test the Freshbooks integration. Only tried to import around 100 clients and 100 transactions and all I received was error after error. Useless.
