With Chrometa, under-billing and spending hours organizing and rebuilding your hours is a thing of the past. Chrometa automatically tracks your time and lets you easily organize that time so you can accurately and easily bill your clients.

The “magic” of Chrometa is that its data collector runs in the background of your PC and/or Mac, quietly making note of your activities. It’s like having your very own personal timekeeper.

When you open or compose an email, Chrometa will capture that activity. Same for documents you draft, web research you do, and even phone and meeting time—everything is captured passively without you lifting a finger.

How it works
Chrometa captures your time automatically and allows you to categorize it quickly to specific Clients and Projects. Then you can export these time entries directly into FreshBooks.

Getting Started
To get started with Chrometa, click on the Get Started link above to sign up for a Chrometa account. To setup the Chrometa integration,

Go to Account - Integration Info.
Enter your FreshBooks URL and API Key.
Create your Client/Project structure in Chrometa to mirror FreshBooks, including the email address of your Client. You can do this is via a bulk import of your list in CSV format. Go to the Projects tab in Chrometa, and click the Import Clients button (upper-right) to access the bulk import feature.
Create an Invoice by going to the Invoices tab, selecting the New Invoice button.
Create a new invoice, save it, and export it to FreshBooks. You can combine the Save and Export steps by taking advantage of the “And” menu located immediately below the Save button.

Chrometa DOES in fact integrate with Freshbooks, BUT that integration is no longer to do with Time Entries. Previously Chrometa enabled exporting of logged time into Freshbooks' awfully painful Time Tracker, but this has been discontinued in preference for exporting of Invoices into Freshbooks. The Chrometa system now only exports Invoices created from it's own very accurate time logs, which is a far superior way to how Freshbooks handles time tracking.

I've rated this app at 4 stars because it is BY FAR the best time tracking tool I have ever used, especially for people, like myself, who loathe time-sheets and stopwatches with a passion. It would get 5 stars if they re-introduced and improved the Time Export facility.

If you want to use a Time Tracking tool, Chrometa is THE one to use - if you want to use a billing tool, Freshbooks is THE one to use.

Let Chrometa look after the Time, and let Freshbooks look after the Invoicing - simply export invoices from the Chrometa time logs into Freshbooks, and then bill your clients as you would normally through Freshbook's most excellent invoicing system.

Chrometa does not integrate with Freshbooks whatsoever. The only reason I tried it was because of this promise.

Please take Chrometa off of this list so it doesn't waste the valuable time of others like it has mine.
